Bearcats take a bite out of BCLUW football

CONRAD — North Butler ran for 319 yards and held BCLUW to 86 total yards in Friday’s Class A District 3 football game.

The visiting Bearcats (4-1, 2-1) averaged 7.8 yards on 41 carries. Tanner Arjes ran for 63 yards and three touchdowns, and Brady Austin added 74 yards for North Butler.

BCLUW quarterback Zaden Eggers completed 2-of-8 passes for 73 yards with an interception and a 67-yard touchdown connection with Cael Keller. The Comets (0-5, 0-3) gained just 13 yards on 22 rushing attempts in the loss.

Alex Paxson led the BCLUW defense with 8.5 tackles and two quarterback sacks, while Emmitt Petermeier added seven tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. Keller recovered a fumble and Eggers had an interception.
