SPORTS SHORTS: Northern Iowa takes down Northern Illinois

DEKALB, Ill. — Tytan Anderson scored 17 points as Northern Iowa beat Northern Illinois 76-63 on Thursday night.

Anderson added five rebounds for the Panthers (6-7). Bowen Born scored 15 points, going 4 of 8 from the floor, including 2 for 4 from 3-point range, and 5 for 5 from the line. Nate Heise shot 4 for 12 (2 for 4 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points.

David Coit led the Huskies (6-5) in scoring, finishing with 17 points.

Bulldogs reach triple digits at North Dakota

GRAND FORKS, N.D. — The Drake women’s basketball team capped its non-conference schedule by hitting the century mark, dropping North Dakota with a 108-60 victory on Thursday afternoon at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.

Six players scored in double figures for the Bulldogs (7-4) in eclipsing 100 points for the first time this season. Anna Miller scored a team-leading 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting for Drake, which never trailed after scoring the game’s first five points.

Katie Dinnebier contributed 16 points and five assists for Drake, and Anna Brown also scored 16 points. Grace Berg and Taylor McAulay had 13 points apiece, and Courtney Becker finished with 10.

Kacie Borowicz scored a game-high 29 points to power North Dakota.
