West Marshall senior guard Owen Siegert was honored with selection to the Heart of Iowa’s all-conference boys basketball teams for the second year in a row, repeating as an honorable mention.

Siegert was joined on the all-HOIAC honorable mention list by junior forward Cash Johnston, who led the Trojans in scoring and rebounding throughout the season.

Siegert, a 5-foot-10 point guard, averaged 7.9 points and 3.7 rebounds in conference play. He led West Marshall and ranked seventh in the Heart of Iowa with 45 assists and 23 steals, and his 2.5 assist-to-turnover ratio was fourth-best in the conference.

Siegert made 31 free throws, eighth-best in the league, and was a 68.9 percent shooter from the stripe.

Johnston, a 6-2 junior, led the Trojans in conference play by averaging 9.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. He ranked 19th and 12th, respectively, in the Heart of Iowa. Johnston was fifth in the conference with 11 blocked shots and ranked sixth by shooting 75 percent (27-for-36) from the free-throw line.

Johnston shot 48.6 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from 3-point range during conference play, both ratios ranking seventh in the Heart of Iowa.
