A group of six Marshalltown High School graduates competed in the mixed 800-meter Masters event on Friday morning at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, each wearing a Bobcat jersey for their two-lap trip around the Blue Oval at Drake Stadium. Pictured, from left, are Ben Cox, Craig Cartier, Jarret Heil, Grant Shadden, Dave Baitinger and John Borthwick. Shadden was the top finisher among the former Bobcats, finishing ninth in a time of 2 minutes, 18.03 seconds. Baitinger was 10th in 2:19.65, Borthwick was 11th in 2:21.92, Heil 14th in 2:27.08, Cartier 20th in 2:32.64, and Cox 22nd in 2:43.31.
