ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands — The Northern Iowa women’s basketball team will be heading to the Virgin Islands for the 25th edition of the women’s Paradise Jam tournament at the University of Virgin Islands Elridge Blake Sports and Fitness Center in St. Thomas.

The tournament will take place over Thanksgiving weekend Nov. 28-30.

This year’s field includes eight teams and will be split into two brackets. UNI, Auburn, Kansas and Pittsburgh will compete in the Island Tournament, while Florida State, Gonzaga, Missouri State and Texas Tech face off in the Reef Tournament. This will be the first time that the Northern Iowa women’s basketball team has competed in this event since its inception in 2000.

The Island Tournament tips off on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 28) when the Panthers will face Auburn in the first all-time meeting in program history. The Panthers will take on Kansas on Nov. 29, and UNI sqaures off against Pittsburgh on Nov. 30.
