Marshalltown High School acknowleged long-time public address announcer Lyle “Butch” Baer Jr. before Monday’s home baseball game against Gilbert, presenting him with an autographed team baseball and a plaque to commemorate his many years behind the microphone. Baer has served as the PA announcer for Bobcat athletics for nearly 40 years and as an announcer at the Iowa High School State Baseball Tournament for 32 years.
