Iowa women’s basketball sells out for 2nd year in a row

IOWA CITY — General public seating for the 2024-25 University of Iowa women’s basketball season are sold out, the announcement was made Thursday by the school’s athletics department. It is the second time in school history the program has sold out Carver-Hawkeye Arena for the season.

Fans are invited to meet the team by attending “Hawkeyes From Downtown” from 4-6 p.m. on October 11 near the corner of Clinton and Iowa Avenue.

Iowa is coming off a school-record 34-win season. The Hawkeyes claimed the Big Ten Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Championship game for a second consecutive season. Last year, Iowa ranked second nationally in attendance with a total of 238,620 fans in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

At 14,914 fans per game last season, Iowa broke the Big Ten Conference’s single-season attendance average record for the second consecutive season.
