ISU receiver Noel named to Hornung Honor Roll
Iowa State do-it-all wide receiver Jaylin Noel has been named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for his performance in the Cyclones’ comeback win against UCF on Saturday in Ames.
The Paul Hornung Award is presented annually to the most versatile player in major college football.
Noel played a key role at wide receiver and on special teams in Iowa State’s 38-35 victory over the Knights. The senior tallied 203 all-purpose yards in the game, including 153 receiving yards and 52 punt return yards.
Of Noel’s 153 receiving yards, 103 of them came in the fourth quarter to help Iowa State erase a 14-point second-half deficit. His 153 yards were also the second-most in a game in his career.
The Kansas City, Mo. native had receptions of 29 and 16 yards on Iowa State’s game-winning 11-play, 80-yard drive.
No. 10 Iowa State is on bye this week. The Cyclones will be back in action Nov. 2 at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN when they host Texas Tech for homecoming.
