Laube drops 10 triples in Panther win

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands — Kayba Laube made a school-record 10 3-pointers as the UNI women’s basketball team walloped Pittsburgh 90-74 in Saturday’s finale at the Paradise Jam Island Tournament.

Laube, a senior guard, shot 10-of-15 from 3-point range on her way to a career-high 34 points. The Panthers (4-3) outscored Pitt 33-15 in the second quarter to take a 54-41 halftime lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Maya McDermott added 21 points, including three of UNI’s program-record 16 3-pointers in the game. Ryley Goebel added 13 points and six rebounds, and Laube led the Panthers with seven boards.

West Marshall graduate Katy Reyerson added five points and two blocked shits in 12 minutes off the bench for UNI.

Bella Perkins led Pitt (5-4) with 26 points off the bench, shooting 6-for-6 from 3-point range.
