WATERLOO, Ill. — Former Marshalltown High School standout Amber Henson helped the Drake women’s golf team to a third-place finish at last week’s Missouri Valley Conference Championship at Annbriar Golf Course.
Henson earned All-Conference Team honors for finishing eighth individually, shooting 73-74-75–222 for a 6-over-par total in the 54-hole event. She carded seven birdies for the tournament and 13 bogeys, but nothing higher than a bogey.
Illinois State won the team title with a collective 10-over-par 874, followed by Missouri State (905), Drake (906) and Bradley (907) in the 12-team tournament. Bradley’s Jillian Cosler claimed medalist honors with a 1-under 215 total.
Erika Holmberg led Drake with a 5-over 221, tying for sixth place, followed by Henson, Julie Higgins (229), Rylee Heryford (239) and Kate Connolly (248).
Henson, a 2022 MHS graduate, has placed 37th, seventh and now eighth at the MVC Championships in her three seasons with the Bulldogs.
