MHS tennis nets accolades
Nine Bobcats in all named to Iowa Alliance Conference North Division teams
The Marshalltown High School tennis teams both posted remarkable season records this spring, and the individual achievements that led to those squads’ successes were honored accordingly.
The Bobcats had a grand total of nine all-conference selections in a vote of the Iowa Alliance Conference’s North Division coaches, including a pair of unanimous first-team selections and four more unanimous second-team picks.
On the girls’ side, Marshalltown sophomore Kate Sandvick was a unanimous first-team honoree, while teammate Kennedy Feldman, a senior, was also a first-team selection. Sandvick and Feldman qualified for the Class 2A state doubles tournament together, going 1-2 at state before being ousted one win shy of a medal.

Seniors Kate Hauser, Lily Zahnd and Reese Jensen were all selected to the all-conference second team. Hauser and Zahnd were unanimous choices. Hauser went 10-2 this spring at the No. 3 singles spot, while Zahnd was 12-0 at No. 4. Jensen finished 11-1 at the No. 5 position.
Zahnd posted a 22-3 career singles record in two years, while Hauser was 11-2 with a lone individual singles win during her junior campaign.
