ISU’s Orange selected as Bednarik Award weekly honoree
AMES — Iowa State defensive lineman Domonique Orange has been selected as the Bednarik Award National Player of the Week for his performance in Iowa State’s 16-13 victory over Iowa on Saturday.
Orange finished with a career-high six tackles and a quarterback hurry while going up against Hawkeye center Logan Jones, who was a 2024 honorable mention All-American and a first-team all-Big Ten selection.
Orange often required the attention of multiple Hawkeye offensive linemen, allowing the rest of the Cyclone defense to combine for six tackles for loss, three sacks and four QB hurries. The Kansas City, Mo., native played a vital role in a defensive effort that held Iowa to just 83 yards passing and 214 yards of total offense.
