ISU’s Williams on Lieberman watch list

AMES — Iowa State junior point guard Jada Williams has been named to the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Award watch list. It is the first time in her career that she has been featured on the award’s watch list.
Williams comes to Iowa State after playing her first two seasons at Arizona. The Kansas City, Mo., native led the Wildcats in scoring (12.7 ppg) and assists (87) a season ago.
She started 30 games for Arizona while recording the second-highest free throw percentage in the Big 12 at .862 (75-87). The 5-foot-8 guard earned Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honors after averaging 9.5 points per game.
