The West Marshall wrestling program honored Skip and Jim Steiert during their intersquad duals earlier this season, recognizing two of the Trojans’ all-time greats. Skip, left, went 84-12 in his three years of wrestling, qualifying for state all three years and placing fourth and second. His father Jim, right, was the Trojans’ head coach for 23 years with a record of 186-69-2. His teams won 42 tournament titles, placed at state twice, and he coached 43 state qualifiers and three state champions. He was named the Coach of the Year in 1986 and is a member of three coaching Halls of Fame: Iowa Wrestling, Iowa Softball, and National Wrestling.
