MCC starts bowling for men and women

Marshalltown Community College has announced the addition of men’s and women’s bowling to its athletic lineup. The program will begin competing in the fall of 2026 as part of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.

The MCC athletic department believes a bowling program will thrive in Marshalltown. With the Marshalltown High School teams coming off several successful seasons, MCC is proud to offer a local transition for student-athletes to continue their competitive careers and build on that success at the collegiate level.

“We know that a bowling program is going to be a great fit for our campus and our community,” said MCC athletic director Whitney Sowers. “There is a wealth of bowling knowledge in Marshalltown and the surrounding local communities that have seen great success in the sport. We are excited to tap into the passion and talent.”

MCC will be partnering Wayward Social, where the Tigers will hold their practices. This partnership will allow the team to train in a premier local facility in the heart of the community.

MCC is currently seeking a head coach to lead the new programs. This is an open position, and the college is looking for a leader ready to build a winning culture from day one. Interested candidates can apply at iavalley.edu/join-our-team/ or contact Sowers.

Student-athletes interested in joining the MCC bowling program are encouraged to reach out to the MCC Athletic Department or fill out a form online at MCCAthletics.com.

Starting at $4.38/week.
