IRVING, Texas — Three Iowa State players headlined the Cyclones’ representation when the Big 12 Conference released its 2026 Phillips 66 All-Big 12 men’s basketball honors Monday, while Arizona guard Jaden Bradley captured the league’s top individual award.
Iowa State senior forward Joshua Jefferson earned first-team all-conference recognition for Iowa State, while senior guard Tamin Lipsey and junior forward Milan Momcilovic were named to the second team by the conference’s coaches. Lipsey also received the conference’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and was selected to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team.
The trio helped Iowa State head into postseason play with a 25-6 overall record and a 12-6 mark in conference games under coach T.J. Otzelberger.
Bradley, a senior guard for Arizona, was named Big 12 Player of the Year after leading the Wildcats to the regular-season title. He averaged 13.4 points and 4.6 assists per game while guiding Arizona to an 18-2 league record.
Arizona’s success was reflected throughout the postseason awards. Forward Tobe Awaka was named Sixth Man of the Year, and Tommy Lloyd earned Coach of the Year honors.
Kansas center Flory Bidunga was selected Defensive Player of the Year, while teammate Melvin Council Jr. was named Newcomer of the Year. BYU guard AJ Dybantsa received Freshman of the Year honors, and Texas Tech guard Christian Anderson was named the league’s Most Improved Player.
Jefferson secured a place on the All-Big 12 First Team after producing one of the conference’s most versatile seasons. He averaged 16.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, five assists and 1.6 steals per game.
He was joined on the first team by Bradley, Arizona teammates Brayden Burries and Motiejus Krivas, Houston guard Emanuel Sharp, Houston freshman Kingston Flemings, BYU freshman Dybantsa, Kansas center Bidunga, and Texas Tech standouts Anderson and JT Toppin.
Lipsey added multiple distinctions to his résumé. In addition to earning second-team all-conference honors, the Ames native was named Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Lipsey averaged 13.3 points, 5.0 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game while maintaining a 3.73 grade-point average in communications studies.
His defensive impact also remained central to Iowa State’s identity. Lipsey was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team for the third time, becoming just the sixth player in conference history to earn that honor three times.
Momcilovic also received All-Big 12 Second Team honors after one of the most efficient shooting seasons in the country. The 6-foot-8 junior forward broke ISU’s single-season record for 3-pointers, connecting on 114-of-228 tries from beyond the arc.
The All-Freshman Team included Burries and Peat from Arizona, Dybantsa from BYU, Houston’s Flemings and Kansas guard Peterson.
