The Marshalltown boys’ soccer team got the first opportunity to play on the newly renovated playing surface at Franklin Field behind Franklin Elementary School, which was renovated as part of the Reimagine Miller project — a comprehensive effort to renovate, expand and rebuild Miller Middle School. On Monday night, the Bobcats beat Class 2A No. 8 Perry by a score of 3-1. Marshalltown junior Angel Gomez, pictured above, scored the last of three goals for the Bobcats.
