IOWA CITY — Georgia transfer Dani Carnegie has signed with the University of Iowa women’s basketball program, it was announced Tuesday Hawkeye head coach Jan Jensen.

A junior-to-be, Carnegie, will have two seasons remaining in Iowa City. She is the sixth-overall rated transfer portal prospect this year.

Carnegie was named first-team All-Southeastern Conference in her sophomore season with the Bulldogs and averaged 17.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 33.4 minutes per game.

“Dani is a great young woman, and we are thrilled she is joining our program,” Jensen said. “She is a tremendous combo guard and will be a valuable piece heading into next year. Dani is a dynamic three-level scorer that can defend really well. We are really excited about what she brings to the table.”

Carnegie was the ACC Sixth Player of the Year in 2024 with Georgia Tech and an All-ACC freshman team choice. The 5-foot-9 guard averaged 12.9 points per game and played alongside Iowa’s current starting point guard Chizadi “Chit-Chat” Wright. She was also coached by Iowa assistant Lasondra Barrett that season at Georgia Tech.

Carnegie was a five-time ACC Freshman of the Week honoree in her collegiate debut at Georgia Tech. She led the Yellow Jackets in 3-pointers made (66).

Carnegie was named 2024 Miss Georgia Basketball out of Grayson High School and was ranked 29th nationally in her recruiting class by ESPN.
