SPORTS SHORTS: Iowa football open practice set for April 25
IOWA CITY — The University of Iowa football team will hold an open practice on Saturday, April 25, inside Kinnick Stadium. The open practice will conclude Iowa’s spring drills and is free to attend.
Gates to Kinnick Stadium will open at 9:45 a.m. with practice scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. Regular season game-day search procedures will be in place and fans will be allowed to sit in the south and west stands.
Free parking will be available on hard surface lots, while normal ramp fees will be charged. Concession stands will be open at select locations on the concourse with limited menu items available. Additional information is available at hawkeyesports.com/footballgameday.
Cyclones’ spring football showcase scheduled for April 25
AMES — The Iowa State football program will hold its Cyclone Football Spring Showcase, the first under head coach Jimmy Rogers, on Saturday, April 25.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take the form of a traditional practice and is slated to start at 10:30 a.m. at Jack Trice Stadium as the Cyclones kick off Rogers’ initial season in Ames.
Fans attending the event will be directed to park in the lots north of Jack Trice Stadium. S-lots are used for student parking and parking will likely be unavailable in those parking spaces.
For those in attendance, seating will be available on the east side of the stadium only (non-press box side). Northeast and southeast gates to the stadium will open at 10 a.m.
Cyclone football posters are expected to be available. The showcase is part of a big day for Cyclone Athletics with Cy’s House of Trivia at Hilton Coliseum that evening.
