AMES — The Marshalltown girls’ golf team had a pair of placewinners en route to a third-place result at the Turk Bowman Invite hosted by Ames on Monday at Veenker Memorial Golf Course.

Bolstered by top-15 finishes from Morgan Hilderbrand and Harper Wilson, the Bobcats finished behind only Gilbert (339) and Dallas Center-Grimes (388) in the 10-team meet.

Marshalltown shot a 404 team score, coming in a comfortable six strokes ahead of Des Moines Roosevelt (410) to secure third place.

Hilderbrand shot a 96 to collect a medal for ninth place, while Wilson was 14th after carding a 99. Avery Polley posted a 104 to place 18th, just missing medal contention by one shot, while Hanna Osgood had a 105 to round out Marshalltown’s team scoring.

Kamryn Price shot 118 and Teagan Niedermann finished with a 131 to round out the Bobcat roster.

Gilbert posted four of the top seven scores to claim the team title, led by medalist Ava Lohrbach’s 73.
