AMES — Iowa State women’s wrestling has added Arizona prep product Alezandra Robles and McKendree transfer Gabriella Gomez, head coach Alli St. John announced Tuesday.

Gomez, a transfer from NCAA champion McKendree, posted a 17-6 record competing at 117 and 124 pounds in her one season with the Bearcats. She is a U17 World Silver Medalist (2022). Gomez was a three-time state champion from Carol Stream, Illinois, going 87-0 in her high school career. She is the sister of former Cyclone men’s wrestler Austin Gomez, who wrestled at Iowa State from 2018-21.

Robles, a Tucson, Arizona native, was a three-time state placewinner and two-time finalist at Sunnyside High School. She amassed a 110-18 prep record.
