AMES -- The Iowa State athletics department has announced alterations to future football schedules, including dates for an anticipated extension of the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series to 2031 and the addition of a seventh home game to the 2027 schedule.
Iowa State's Sept. 18, 2027 game which was originally scheduled to be played at Bowling Green will now be played in Ames at Jack Trice Stadium after the parties mutually agreed to move the second game of their current two-game series. Bowling Green University will also play in Ames this season on Sept. 19.
Additionally, Iowa State's 2028 home game and 2029 road game against Tulane will be moved to the first week of the season given the recent changes in the football playing season calendar that allows schools to start their seasons one week earlier. The 2028 season will open against the Green Wave on Aug. 26 at Jack Trice Stadium, while the 2029 season will kick off Aug. 25 at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans.
Iowa State and Iowa have also verbally agreed to extend the Cy-Hawk football series to 2031. The games in the series will be played as follows:
• Sept. 9, 2028 -- at Iowa City
• Sept. 8, 2029 -- at Ames
• Sept. 7, 2030 -- at Iowa City
• Sept. 6, 2031 -- at Ames
