The Marshalltown High School football team took to Franklin Field on Friday night for its first visit to the historical stadium since 1981, hosting Bondurant-Farrar for a preseason scrimmage. Senior running back Tyler Englund, pictured, scored a touchdown for the Bobcats in the scrimmage. Englund and quarterback Jamison Niehouse are the seventh- and sixth-leading returning rushers from Class 5A a year ago for a Marshalltown squad that ranked sixth in the state with 2,206 rushing yards. The Bobcats officially open the season on Friday, Aug. 28, at Ames, before hosting Waterloo East on Sept. 4 at Leonard Cole Field.
