Hawkeyes release non-conference schedule

IOWA CITY - Eleven of the University of Iowa men's basketball team's 12 non-conference games for the 2026-27 season will be played inside the state of Iowa, the announcement was made Thursday by head coach Ben McCollum.

The Hawkeyes will play eight games at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, two neutral site games in Des Moines and one in Sioux City during the non-league slate. Iowa's lone road game will be played in Cincinnati on Nov. 20 against Big East foe Xavier.

Iowa will open the season with back-to-back home contests, facing Lipscomb (Nov. 3) and Eastern Illinois (Nov. 6) in Iowa City before playing back-to-back neutral site games. The Hawkeyes will square off against Virginia Tech in Sioux City on Nov. 10 and Creighton in Des Moines on Nov. 15.

Following the Nov. 20 road game against Xavier, the Hawkeyes will face UMBC (Nov. 24) and Prairie View A&M (Nov. 28) to sandwich the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Hawkeyes will play a pair of yet-to-be released Big Ten contests in early December before hosting an Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series contest against Iowa State on Dec. 10 on Mediacom Court.

Iowa will close out the non-conference portion of the schedule with games against Western Illinois (Dec. 13) and Bethune-Cookman (Dec. 17). The team's final neutral site contest will be against Alabama at the Casey's Center in Des Moines on Dec. 21 and the non-league finale will be against South Dakota on Dec. 29.
