MCC bowling adds Ottumwa’s Palmer

Marshalltown Community College has announced the signing of Hayden Palmer from Ottumwa High School to its inaugural men's bowling program.
Palmer is coming off a senior season in which he raised his average to 182 pins per game, improving nearly 25 pins from his junior campaign. That steady progress reflects his commitment to developing his game and his determination to keep improving.
A product of one of Iowa's premier high school bowling programs at Ottumwa, Palmer earned recognition as one of the top 150 recruits in Iowa's Class of 2026. Beyond his scores, his attitude and work ethic set him apart. Palmer brings contagious energy to every competition and keeps teammates engaged -- an invaluable quality during the long days of collegiate tournament play.
"I've had the pleasure of watching Hayden grow over the past two years," said MCC head bowling coach Nathan Clark. "I truly believe he's a diamond in the rough -- a bowler who just needs an opportunity to show what he can do. Every time we've worked together, he's been an absolute sponge, eager to learn and improve every aspect of his game. His senior season showed just how much potential he has, and I believe he's only scratching the surface. Add in the energy he brings to a team, and Hayden has all the tools to become a tremendous college bowler."
Palmer joins the MCC men's bowling team as the program continues to build a competitive roster for its first season of NJCAA competition.
