The Marshalltown High School football team is conducting its annual Gatorade Drive on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon in front of the Marshalltown Hy-Vee.
MHS football players and coaches will be on hand accepting donations and drinks outside the store entrance as they try to fill a trailer ahead of the upcoming season.
The Bobcats unofficially kick off the season with a scrimmage against Bondurant-Farrar on Friday, Aug. 21, at Franklin Field. Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m., the Marshalltown freshmen will face the visiting Bluejays at 5:30 p.m., and the varsity squads will take the field at 7 p.m. The event is free to the public.
Marshalltown’s first game is Friday, Aug. 28, at Ames.
