Bobcats deny Dodgers in Alliance dual meet

The Marshalltown boys' golf team got past Fort Dodge before the weather turned ugly, dunking the Dodgers 156-165 in Tuesday's Iowa Alliance Conference dual at the American Legion Memorial Golf Course.

The Bobcats got another medalwinning performance from junior Joe Greazel, who claimed top honors with his 1-over-par round of 36 across the back nine at the Legion. Greazel bogeyed the 10th and 18th holes while birdieing the par-5 12th in leading Marshalltown to its third dual-meet victory in as many tries.

Fort Dodge's Mason Frevert finished as the runner-up at 37, while Marshalltown golfers assembled in line behind him. Parker Christen (39) and Bryson Payne (40) contributed counting scores, while Jacob Seberger, Korben McKibben and Gavin Misek tied for the fourth counting round with 41s.

The Bobcat junior varsity was led by a 41 from Oliver Young as well, and Aiden Holmgren shot a 42 for medalist and runner-up honors.

Marshalltown is back in action today, joining Des Moines Roosevelt at the RVC Triangular hosted by Waterloo East at Gates Park Golf Course in Waterloo. Tee time is 2 p.m.
