The Marshalltown girls' swimming and diving team scored its most lopsided victory of the season on Tuesday, tackling Des Moines Roosevelt 106-77 in an Iowa Alliance Conference dual meet at the Marshalltown High School pool.
The Bobcats (2-2, 2-2) won all 12 events to take care of the Roughriders convincingly, twice taking the top two spots in a race.
Marshalltown's Leia Hernandez and Drea Ceren went 1-2 in the 50-yard freestyle, with Hernandez winning in 25.58 seconds and Ceren second in 27.37.
The combination of Addison Elmore and Alex Lasack scored first and second, respectively, in the 100 backstroke as well, with Elmore winning in 1:13.26 and Lasack taking second in 1:14.61.
Emma Case, Hernandez and Elmore all were triumphant in each of their four swims. Case claimed first place in the 200 individual medley and the 500 freestyle as well as the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay; Hernandez was first to the wall in the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke along with the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay; Elmore won the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke individually to go along with both freestyle relays.
Ceren was a part of three wins, including here individual victory in the 100 freestyle, and Lasack added a win in the 100 butterfly to her part in the 400 free relay. Lydia Beek was on two winning relays and Zoey Pals contributed to another.
Harlie Thatcher took the top spot in the diving competition as well for MHS, winning with a six-dive total of 196.70.
Marshalltown entertains five other teams for the Bobcat Invite on Saturday at the MHS pool, welcoming Atlantic, Boone, Grinnell, Johnston and Ottumwa for the 9:30 a.m. diving competition and the 12:30 p.m. swimming portion.
