ROSEMOUNT, Minn. -- The Marshalltown Community College men's soccer team became the first opponent to score against Dakota County Technical College, but the Tigers couldn't knock off the Blue Knights in a 3-1 loss on Wednesday night.
MCC's Enrique Bearden scored an unassisted goal in the 85th minute to bring the Tigers (1-4) to within 2-1, but Dakota County cashed in on a counter-attack in the final minute to bring the score to its final margin.
Andrew Ortiz scored two goals and Pedro Degani added the other for the Blue Knights (3-0), who outshot MCC 16-11. Danny Burgos made six saves in net for Dakota County, while Torai Matsumoto had seven stops on 10 shots on goal for the Tiger defense.
