MALVERN -- The GMG football team held East Mills out of the end zone for the first three quarters of a 34-12 victory over the Wolverines in Friday's non-district showdown.
The Wolverines improved to 3-1 for the first time since 2021 thanks to a balanced offense. Quarterback Ethan Klemesrud ran for 84 yards and three touchdowns while Bodie Hutchinson had 56 yards and two scores. Klemesrud also completed 11-of-16 passes for 135 yards, connecting with Jacoby Woodbury six times for 83 yards. Easton Sash had three receptions for 29 yards, had eight tackles and two interceptions on defense and also blocked a punt.
Klemesrud collected 17 tackles, 15 of them solo stops, while Hutchinson had 9.5 tackles, including three for loss, with two quarterback sacks. Woodbury and Cullen Elmore both sacked the quarterback as well.
East Mills (3-2) was held to 99 yards rushing and 253 yards overall.
