PANORA -- The Marshalltown boys' golf team ran into one of the state's best team on one of Iowa's toughest courses, and the combination was too much for the Bobcats.

Norwalk notched six of the seven best scores in a non-conference dual on Monday at Lake Panorama National Golf Course, and the Warriors bested the Bobcats 305-363.

Jaxon Howe shot an even-par round of 72 to lead Norwalk, which is ranked as the sixth-best Class 4A squad in combined adjusted scoring average in the state this fall. Dayton Poen (74), Tillman Papcun (77) and Kota Bentz (82) completed the Warriors' scoring.

Marshalltown was led by Joe Greazel, who finished in with an 83. Gavin Misek (92), Korben McKibben (93) and Jacob Seberger (95) represented the rest of the Bobcats' team scoring, while Bryson Payne (96) and Parker Christen (99) also got an introduction to the course.

The Bobcats will return to Lake Panorama for their district meet on Monday in hopes of advancing to state. Firstly, MHS will play in the Iowa Alliance Conference Tournament on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Legacy Golf Course in Norwalk to round out the regular season.
