AMES — Iowa State women’s wrestling has added Arizona prep product Alezandra Robles and McKendree transfer Gabriella Gomez, head coach Alli St. John announced Tuesday. Gomez, a transfer from NCAA champion McKendree, posted a 17-6 record competing at 117 and 124 pounds in her one season with the Bearcats. She is a U17 World Silver Medalist (2022). World bronze medalist Burkert joins Iowa women’s staff

IOWA CITY — Jenna Burkert, the 2021 World bronze medalist, has been named assistant coach for the University of Iowa women’s wrestling program, it was announced by head coach Clarissa Chun. During her career, Burkert was a four-time World Team, nine-time Senior National Team and three-time Junior National Team member. She was the runner-up at the 2021 Olympic Trials at 57 kilograms.
