Jamee Sue Alexander, 34, of Des Moines and Jasmine Renee Atkins, 25, of Council Bluffs were arrested Sunday for stealing a package.

Marshalltown Police Department officers responded to the 1500 block of West Main Street after receiving a report about a package being stolen off of the front porch of a private residence. An investigation revealed the suspect then got into a small, blue vehicle with a hatchback which was later spotted in Melbourne.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office deputies pulled the vehicle over. Alexander and Atkins were positively identified and the stolen package was found inside the vehicle. It was discovered the vehicle was also stolen. Both were arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail.

Alexander and Atkins have each been charged with second-degree theft.
