The board then adopted a construction evaluation resolution for confinement feeding operations, authorized County Engineer Paul Geilenfeldt and fellow secondary roads employees Mark Hentges, Lisa Reeder and Jill Tompkins to issue and sign special permits for the movement of vehicles of excessive size and weight, authorized Geilenfeldt to execute the requirements of Section 306.41 of Iowa code regarding blanket road closures, authorized Geilenfeldt to execute the completion of work and final acceptance and farm to market, federal and state aid construction projects in the county, authorized the County Highway Department to erect embargo signs such as load restrictions on roads and approved the Title VI non-discrimination agreement and the Marshall County discrimination disclaimer.

During the public forum period, County Auditor/Recorder Nan Benson reported that budget meetings started yesterday, and the schedule is posted on the public bulletin board. Anyone who would like a schedule is encouraged to contact either Benson’s office or the supervisors. The meetings are held in the meeting room at the northwest corner of the third floor of the courthouse.

“Giddy up for budget time,” Heil said.
