Accidents

• On Sunday, June 21, an SUV driven by Jingwen Cao, 36, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Cao SUV was estimated at $5,000.

• On Sunday, June 21, an SUV driven by Karen Waynette Sellers, 52, of Waterloo, was southbound on Highway 330 when it collided with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Sellers SUV was estimated at $2,500.

• On Friday, June 19, a car driven by Chayce Wesley Armes, 18, of Roland, was northbound on Cooper Avenue when it struck a deer disabling the car. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Armes car was estimated at $15,000.

• On Thursday, June 18, an SUV driven by Curtis Jack Bousum, 70, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bousum SUV was estimated at $10,000.

• On Monday, June 22, Cheryl Kupka, 70, was arrested for theft-fifth degree.

• On Monday, June 22, Craig Howell, 59, was arrested for contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.

• Craig Alan Howell made an initial appearance on a contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order charge. Logan Kelleher is appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing is set for 10 a.m. on July 6. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Gerald James Kremer made an initial appearance on an assault with intent to commit sexual abuse charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on July 13. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
