ISU's Lipsey will be out 4-6 weeks
AMES (AP) — Iowa State starting point guard Tamin Lipsey will miss four to six weeks after injuring his knee at practice Tuesday, the school announced.
Lipsey, who sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, could be back for the Cyclones’ opener against Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 3.
The fourth-year player from Ames has started all 103 of his career games and is the Cyclones’ all-time steals leader with 237. Last season, he averaged 10.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game.
Lipsey has scored over 1,000 points already in his career — the 35th Cyclone ever to do so. He enters senior season with 1,049 total points, 429 assists, 385 rebounds and 237 steals, one of just five players in Big 12 history to have reached those marks.
Lipsey has started 103 career games, tied for the 13th-most in program history. He ranks 10th all-time at ISU with 429 career assists, and sixth with a 2.03 assist-to-turnover ratio.
