Man arrested and charged with murder
A Marshalltown man has been arrested and charged as a murder suspect.
Brandon Paul Skidmore, 31, was arrested early Saturday morning after Marshalltown police were called to the alley south of Center Street Station, 19 N. Center St.
According to Capt. Brian Batterson of the MPD, at approximately 2 a.m., officers and medical personnel arrived and found an unresponsive male bleeding from the head.
The man, whose identify has not yet been released, was transported to Central Iowa Healthcare’s Emergency Room where he died as a result of his injuries.
An investigation my MPD personnel determined the victim was assaulted in the alley as the business was closing.
Skidmore was arrested at the scene and taken to the Marshall County Jail.
He was charged with second-degree murder, a Class B felony. Skidmore was scheduled to make his initial court appearance Saturday.
The investigation remains ongoing and no other details were available at press time.
