Gov. Reynolds issues disaster proclamation for Marshall County

DES MOINES — On Wednesday, Governor Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation for Marshall County in response to severe weather that occurred on June 17, when winds near 100 miles per hour and major damages were recorded at the Marshalltown Airport among other locations in northern Marshall County. The proclamation allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of these storms and activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and the Disaster Case Advocacy Program. Marshall County Sheriff Accidents • On Sunday, June 21, an SUV driven by Jingwen Cao, 36, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported.
