John and Jan Brandt, of Sherman, Texas, formerly of Marshalltown, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 9. They were married July 9, 1965 in LaMoille at the Congregational Church.

Jan (Legg) originally from Marshalltown is a retired realtor, being licensed in both Iowa and Texas.

John worked at Fisher Controls since he was 19. He started in the factory and retired after 42 years of service. He was a senior project manager at the time of his retirement and traveled extensively. He was very dedicated to his job and really enjoyed being a part of Fisher Controls.

The couple has three children: Deb (Tim) Dablemont, of Caddo Mills, Texas; Michelle (Craig) Runeberg, of McKinney, Texas; and Kelly John (Kenna) Brandt, of Pottsboro, Texas.

They have eight grandchildren: Jared Tilley, of Dallas, Texas; Max Dablemont, of Caddo Mills, Texas; Jorden, Courtney and Alex Runeberg, of McKinney, Texas; Jonathan, Jackson and Justin Brandt, of Pottsboro, Texas.

Also Deb’s marriage into the Dablemont family has given us four additional married granddaughters and 10 great grandchildren.
