Chapter BB approves scholarship winners
P.E.O. Chapter BB met recently at the home of Marcia Plett with Ladonna Allison serving as co-hostess.
A report of the local scholarship fundraising efforts was given. The chapter approved awarding two $1,000 scholarships to Marshalltown Senior High School women who qualify. The women must be in their senior year of high school in order to apply for the scholarships. Applications can be received by making contact using the information below.
Following the business meeting, Plett presented a very interesting and humorous story of The Twelve Days of Christmas.
P.E.O. is one of the oldest women’s organizations in the United States having been founded in 1897. The mission of P.E.O. is to empower women by offering educational grants, scholarships and low interest student loans for those who qualify. The Initials, P.E.O. stand for philanthropic education organization.
