St. Rita’s Study Club begins a new year

St. Rita’s Study Club of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish held its first meeting of the 2024-25 year on Sept 26 at the St Henry Dining Room. Co-hostesses were Pat Kirner, Judy Anderson and Carol Jansen. This years officers are Mary Mauk, Jeanne Oetker, Cindy Staron and Denise Holubar. President Mauk opened the meeting with the Annual September Meeting Prayer and the Prayer to St. Rita. The minutes from the May meeting were read and approved and the treasurers report given. Tuesday Musical hears music camp winners

The Tuesday Musical Club met Sept. 24 at the Congregational Church. President Deb Nuss welcomed the Marshalltown High School 2024 Music Camp Scholarship winners. Isaiah Wilder, Leslie Ibarra Murillo, Ashlyn Bane, Veronica Juarez and Ella Reynolds shared some camp experiences. Chapter JU and LT hold joint meeting

P.E.O. Chapters JU and LT held an Aug. 5 joint meeting at First Methodist Church. Ann Isgrig, president of Chapter JU with 11 members, and Sharon Jensen, president of Chapter LT with 12 members, presided over separate meetings. A thank-you was read from Meredith Kodis for the $500 Chapter LT College Scholarship. They then joined to play Bunco with prizes awarded to winners. Refreshments made by Paige Scott, of Country Cakes, were Marguerite decorated cupcakes served with iced tea and lemonade by Sharib Jensen and Christin Hobson.
