VFW Auxiliary hosts July meeting

The July 2024 General Membership meeting of the VFW Auxiliary Post 839 was held at the post home on July 16. President Liz Polkiewicz called the meeting to order at 7 p.m., followed by the Opening Ceremonies according to the Ritual. There were nine members present. The Opening Prayer was recited, led by Chaplain Donna Mitchem. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, led by Patriotic Instructor Kay Bell. P.E.O. Chapter LT initiates member

P.E.O. Chapter LT initiated Cherryl Woltjer as a new member July 15 at First Methodist Church with 11 members present. Sharon Jensen, president, presided over the meeting and welcomeD guest member, Jhona Lyn Gallow, from Gladbrook. Rita Smith and Mary Miller served dessert after the meeting. The next meeting will be 1 p.m. on Aug. 5 at First Methodist Church, with P.E.O. Chapter JU as guests.
