Chapter JU meets at Glenwood Place

Twenty members of Chapter JU of the P.E.O. Sisterhood attended the May 6 meeting which was held in the Gathering Place at Glenwood Place, hosted by Marilyn Downs with Tea Committee of Eleanor Stegmann, Eleanor Tjossem and Bette Bagnall. An informative presentation on life at Glenwood Place was given by Brooke Davis of Glenwood. A business meeting was conducted thereafter with discussion regarding possible merging of Chapters; further exploration of this will occur in months ahead. Marshall County Spring Conference was held on April 13 at the Iowa Veterans Home Copper Kettle in Marshalltown. Reg. at 9 a.m. A board meeting was held at 9:30 a.m. Coffee, juice and fruit was served by hosting Marshalltown Unit. Pres. Stacy Bane called conference to order at 10 a.m. Parliamentarian was LaDonna Runner. Invocation given by Liscomb. A moment of silence was observed for the MIA/POW and deceased veterans. The Ave Maria Study Club met April 12 at St. Henry Education Center in the Madonna Room. Co-Chair Sandy Good opened the meeting at 1:05 p.m. She introduced the program presenter, Cindy Staron. VFW Auxiliary conducts March business

The March 2024 General Membership meeting of the VFW Auxiliary Post 839 met at the Post Home on March 19. The meeting was called to order at 6:40 p.m. by President Liz Polkiewicz, followed by the Opening Ceremonies according to the Ritual. There were seven members present.
