• John Daniel Lebeck made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-impeding the flow of air or blood charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sept. 19. Lebeck is released on his promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Louis Ancil Walsingham made an initial appearance on two counts of an harassent-first degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. • Ricky Dale Harms made an initial appearance on a no proof of vaccination charge. This charge was scheduled to be revisited in 30 days after the magistrate found Harms in contempt of court for repeated use of unacceptable language for a courtroom and sentenced him to 30 days in the Marshall County Jail.

• Beau Ryan Savage made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. Savage pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Jose Cesar Galvan Hidalgo made an initial appearance on an operating while under the influence-first offense charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 19. Galvan Hidalgo is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Tina Laresse Carson made an initial appearance on a forgery charge, an identity theft charge and a theft charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 19. Bond will continue as posted, $5,000, until the conclusion of this case.

• Richard Baldenegro Martinez failed to make an initial appearance on driving under suspension charge and the court found him guilty. The fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Bobbi Jo Swain failed to make an initial appearance on driving under suspension charge and the court found her guilty. The fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• A 16-year-old male made an initial appearance on a violation of a minor’s license charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 27 in Magistrate Court.

• Elena Guzman made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a striking unattended vehicle charge, a striking fixtures on a highway charge, a violation of one-way traffic designation charge and a failure to maintain control charge. Guzman pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 25 in Magistrate Court.

• Ariane R. Exposito made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a driving under suspension charge. Exposito pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 25 in Magistrate Court.

• Andrew Lyle Bramon made an initial appearance on a leaving the scene of an accident charge. Bramon pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Lyda Maria Sandoval made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. Sandoval pleaded guilty to both charges. Accidents

• On Friday, a car driven by Sally Lynn Wilson, 60, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Fourth Street stopped at the stop sign on State Street and proceeded forward colliding with a car driven by Orlando Saldana Hernandez, 45, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Wilson was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to the Wilson car was estimated at $2,000 while the Hernandez car received an estimated $1,500 in damage.
