• Jessica Buenrostro Gonzalez made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-first offense charge and two counts of a child endangerment charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 6. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Joseph Jeffrey Chapman made an initial appearance on a theft -first degree charge and a burglary-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 27. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.
• Jeremy Edward Dengler made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a pre-trial conference ahead of a jury trial charge. Julie Cutler is appointed as counsel. The pre-trial conference is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Oct. 31 and the jury trial is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Nov. 13. Bond is set at $1,500 cash.
• Raynaldo Hernandez made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 6.
• Bobby Lovan made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Lovan pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $27.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.
• Ana Lucia Cota Villa made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 6.

Arrests
• On Thursday, Oct. 16, Jeremy Dengler, 36, was arrested on a warrant charging him with domestic abuse assault-first offense-causing bodily injury and driving while barred-habitual offender.
Accidents
• On Monday, Oct. 13, a car driven by Kevin Michael Morency, 43, of State Center, was southbound on Cooper Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Morency car was estimated at $3,500.
