• Jose Manuel Lorenzana Menjivar made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a plea hearing charge. The public defender’s office will continue as counsel. The plea hearing is rescheduled for 12 p.m. on Nov. 17. Bond is set at $1,000 cash.

• Nicholas Adam Weatherly made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 21.

• Wendy Leigh Kurth made an initial appearance on a failure to stop in the assured, clear distance charge. Kurth pleaded guilty to the charge and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

• Colton Richard Hammons made an initial appearance on an unlawful passing of a school bus-first offense charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 19 in Magistrate Court.

Incidents

• On Friday, Oct. 3, a burglary involving theft ranging from $750 to $1,500 and criminal mischief with damage under $300 was reported on Vance Avenue.

• Alliant Energy reported the theft during an unknown timeframe of copper wiring valued at $5,000.

Arrests

• On Sunday, Nov. 2, Drake Long, 21, was arrested on a warrant charging him with driving while barred-habitual offender.

• On Saturday, Nov. 1, Michael Brems, 45, was arrested for speeding, two counts of child endangerment and operating while under the influence-second offense.

• On Saturday, Nov. 1, Elian Dominguez Velazquez, 26, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense, no insurance-no accident, no valid driver’s license and providing false identification information.
