Des Moines Performing Arts announces 2017–18 season
DES MOINES — Featuring 2016 Tony Award Winners for Best Musical, Best Revival of a Musical and Best Play, the Willis Broadway Series Season Ticket Packages are on sale now.
• “Hamilton” will play its premiere Des Moines engagement and anchor the 2017-18 season
• Willis Broadway Series adds sixth show to season package bringing more Broadway to Iowa
• “Dixie’s Tupperware Party” returns to the Temple Theater for a six-week-run as part of the Prairie Meadows Temple Comedy Series
• The Dance Series, Wellmark Family Series and Prairie Meadows Live at the Temple Concert Series continue to provide diverse programming and community engagement
“Hamilton” will be joined in the Willis Broadway Series by the following shows: “Something Rotten!,” “The Color Purple” – 2016 Tony Award Winner for Best Revival of a Musical; “Waitress, On Your Feet!” and “The Humans” – 2016 Tony Award Winner for Best Play. Four package add-ons were also announced including: “Chicago,” “Stomp,” “Les Misérables” and a special one-night only performance of “Leslie Odom, Jr. In Concert” with the Des Moines Symphony.
DMPA also announces the shows coming to the Prairie Meadows Temple Comedy Series, Prairie Meadows Live at the Temple Concert Series, Wellmark Family Series and The Dance Series. Among the many notable engagements is “Dixie’s Tupperware Party” who will return for a 6-week engagement over the holidays as part of the Prairie Meadows Temple Comedy Series.
Season Tickets to the Willis Broadway Series are on sale now. All other series’ Season Tickets will go on sale in April.
