New golf pro hired at the Legion Golf Course Curtis Klein is originally from Waterloo and grew up in Jesup. He started playing golf at the age of 5 at Irv Warren (Byrnes Park) in Waterloo, where he learned to play the game of golf. He went to high school at Jesup where he played on the golf team and received all-conference honors and has participated in the state championship tournament his junior year. Hy-Vee receives Food Marketing Institute’s Community Outreach Award WEST DES MOINES — The Food Marketing Institute has named Hy-Vee the recipient of its 2018 Community Outreach Award in the Program Addressing Hunger category. The award was announced at the FMI Midwinter Executive Conference this past weekend in Miami, Fla. Hy-Vee received the award for its response following the destructive tornados that touched down in Marshalltown in July 2018. Beck’s Hybrids adds to research team Beck’s Hybrids recently announced Kayla Noble has joined the Marshalltown research team as a Research Associate. Her responsibilities will include assisting with corn and soybean research trials in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin. Previously, she worked for Asilomar Bio, Inc. as a research agronomist before joining the company on Jan. 7. Noble is a 2010 graduate of Dowling Catholic High School. She started at McGraths in Nevada and worked the next seven years for Linda Glantz Interiors designing custom window treatments, furniture, wallcoverings and flooring.
