Members of the group, 100 Women Who Care, received a first-hand look late last week at the new passenger bus for the Combined Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 839/American Legion Post 46 Honor Guard. The members of the honor guard offered tours to the women, who, along with many other groups and individuals, donated nearly $60,000 to help the organization purchase the new 2017 14-passenger vehicle late last year. The honor guard had been using a 1992 Ford passenger bus that was on its last wheel — rusted out floor, exhaust issues, leaking brake lines, leaking engine and an air conditioner that did not work. The honor guard travels to numerous events throughout the year, including performing military honors at the funerals of those men and women who have passed.
