Supervisors approve updates to courthouse air conditioning system

TIMES-REPUBLICAN

At Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting, the supervisors voted unanimously to approve an $8,244 Johnson Controls planned service agreement for the Marshall County Courthouse. The one-year service agreement spans Aug. 1, 2018 through July 31, 2019 and will provide service to the courthouse’s chiller (air conditioner) and software update. The chiller is a large piece of hardware that acts as one giant air conditioning unit for the entire courthouse.

“This is something we do yearly; it’s a renewal,” Marshall County Buildings and Grounds Director Lucas Baedke said. “Every two to three years depending on their software updates, I will include a software package to save us some money if there’s a big update coming to this software, and there is this year.”

The cost of this agreement is $4,000 more than it was previously because of the addition of the service agreement.

The software allows for the unit to be controlled remotely.

Starting at $4.38/week.
